'Product type' refers to a merch item's method of sale (direct sale or bundled with an edition) and production responsibility (Foster or User).
The three types are: Standalone, Merch Edition, and User Physical.
This section explains the differences between each type and guides users through creating and purchasing them.
Merch items created via the Studio Designer and listed for direct sale. These items are produced and fulfilled on-demand by Foster.
After designing your merch item, you'll provide additional details for your item before publishing, including the product name and method of sale.
If you select "Purchased as a standalone item from my merch store" as the method of sale, you'll be prompted to provide the selling price, max supply (if applicable), release date, and duration (if applicable).
Once published, standalone products can be purchased directly from your merch store.
Apparel items included with the purchase of editions. These items are produced and fulfilled on-demand by Foster, with production costs added to the edition price.
Merch editions let creators bundle merch with their master editions listings, offering collectors a bonus with every print they purchase.
After designing your merch item, you'll provide additional details for your item before publishing, including the product name and method of sale. If you select "Included with the purchase of an edition" as the method of sale, you won't need to provide the selling price, max supply, release date, or duration, as this information will be inherited from the associated edition.
Once a merch edition is published, it appears on your store with the release date as TBD—visible only to you until activated. To activate it, go to your profile and select the edition to associate with the merch item.
When listing an edition, you'll see an 'Include merch for each print' option. Toggle it on and select the desired merch item from the 'My Merch Items' modal. The production cost will be added to the listing price.
If an edition includes merch, the edition page will feature a "Merch included with each edition" section. Users can preview the merch item by clicking this section.
Upon purchasing the NFT edition, users receive the edition immediately and can claim the merch item from their Studio Hub.
To claim merch for a purchased edition, go to your Studio Hub and select 'Claim Merch.'
Unclaimed items will appear under the unclaimed filter.
Choose your size, provide a shipping address, and cover tax and shipping fees at checkout with SOL, USDC, or a card via Helio.
After claiming, the item will move to the claimed filter.
Physical items like prints and custom merch made by the creator, with Foster providing storefront and payment processing.
To add a user-fulfilled product to your store, simply select "I will handle production and fulfillment."
It's important to note that any disputes arising from user-fulfilled transactions conducted on the platform are to be resolved directly between the buyer and seller.
